Health Education forms the inherent part of Healthy living. We are involved in educating the Public, Paramedical staffs (nurses, dietician, physiotherapist and supportive staffs) and Doctors regarding early identification of various diseases with appropriate interventions. We are involved in educating the students regarding healthy dietary habits and general hygiene. We have conducted and conducting various Health education activities and interested person can contact us and will be more than happy to join hands with them.

As a part of continuing health education and improving the health awareness among the students we have been conducting various awareness campaign like Childhood Obesity Prevention Programme (CHOP): The prevalence of obesity has increased to the epidemic proportion and ranges from 2 to 25% worldwide. Obesity is strongly associated with chronic non – communicable diseases such as diabetes mellitus, heart disease, dyslipidemia, hypertension, depression, low self esteem, osteoarthritis, respiratory problem and cancer. Obesity when started in childhood has a serious consequence as there is a long period of exposure, before they reach adulthood and hence prevention of obesity should start in childhood. This study was undertaken to access the prevalence of obesity in school children.
This project was done in 27 schools in Madurai city in association with Alpha Hospital and Research Centre. The schools were randomly chosen and after a proper permission, obesity awareness programme was conducted to teachers, students and parents. Height and weight of children were assessed. The food and exercise pattern in school were analyzed. After analyzing these data obesity prevalence was calculated and the same was informed to the schools.
This study was done in 10 government and 17 private schools. A total of 21624 students were screened and 1153 teachers were educated regarding the problem associated with obesity. There was a total of 3244 obese children. The total prevalence of obesity was 15% with prevalence ranging from 4 to 26% in various schools. School feeding and school curriculum had a major influence in the obesity prevalence.
Identifying Children with Short Stature (ICSS) Short stature unless identified early before the age of Puberty may not be possible to be treated. Early identification of short stature is very important as it can be a presentation of any chronic underling disease and unless intervention is done in appropriate age future growth may not be feasible.
This project was done to access the prevails of the short stature and reason behind the short stature in 23 schools in Madurai, 14 schools in Dindigul, 11 schools in Vadamadurai city during 2014 in association with Alpha hospital and Research Centre. After the identification we started examining the short children in schools and for further diagnosis and treatment the students were referred to Alpha Hospital and Research Centre.
This study was done in 48 schools. A total of 22583 students were screened and teachers were educated regarding the problem associated with short stature. There was a total of 448 short children. The total prevalence ranging from 2 to 4% in various schools.
To create awareness among students painting competition was conducted and prizes and participation certificates were awarded.

We provide a Free Medical checkup is association with Alpha Health and Research Centre (Alpha HRC) for various ailments. We have been constantly giving free insulin for needy Patients with type 1 diabetes.
Type 1 diabetes is a form of diabetes that results with due to absolute insulin deficiency. Insulin is a life saving drug for these type of patients. We have been providing free insulin for such type of patients. We are involved in screening for thyroid disorders and treat them to prevent various complications.
